We are very honored to participate in the project of the Jinping Underground Laboratory, providing polyethylene shielding panels, and contributing to the development of science and technology in China and even the world.
On December 7th, the civil engineering and public works of the second phase of the Jinping Underground Laboratory in China, known as the "Jinping Large Facility", were completed and meet the experimental conditions. This marks the official launch of the world's deepest and largest ultra deep underground laboratory into scientific operation.
The first batch of 10 experimental project teams from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Beijing Normal University, China Academy of Atomic Energy Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics and other universities and scientific research institutes came to carry out scientific experiments.
The Jinping facilities are located 2400 meters underground in Jinping Mountain, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with a total volume of 330000 cubic meters. The cosmic ray flux in the laboratory is only one billionth of the surface, and it has various advantages such as "extremely low environmental radon emission", "extremely low environmental radiation", "ultra-low cosmic ray flux", and "ultra clean space".
As a national treasure, the Jinping facility will develop into a world-class deep earth science research center that covers interdisciplinary fields such as particle physics, nuclear astrophysics, cosmology, life sciences, and rock mechanics, to help the national science and technology innovation platform achieve a leapfrog improvement.
